According to Dr. Marc Watkins, our Chief Medical Officer, and the American Academy of Dermatology, skin care doesn’t need to be complicated. Following eight simple steps will get your face on the path to looking its best.

The 8-step Game Plan

1. Do a morning cleanse.
Splash away sleep with a mild, oil-free cleanser.

2. Moisturize (yes, even if your skin is oily).
Lock in hydration with something lightweight that won’t clog pores. Oily? Get an oil-free version. Dry? Go richer.

3. Apply sunscreen — it’s nonnegotiable.
Using SPF 30+ daily can help keep wrinkles, dark spots and skin cancer at bay. Many moisturizers include SPF, combining steps 2 and 3.

4. Wash your face after workouts.
Sweat + dirt = breakouts. A quick rinse after the gym can help prevent this.

5. Cleanse before bedtime.
Go to bed with a clean slate and a fresh face, getting rid of the day’s pollution, sweat and grime before it can do damage overnight.

6. Exfoliate — but gently.
Scrub away dead skin cells one to two times weekly. Use a gentle exfoliant and go easy on your skin.

7. Shave smart.
•Use warm water to soften hairs.
•Apply shaving cream and let it sit for 1 minute.
•Change blade after every 5–7 shaves.

8. Hydrate from the inside.
Water is your skin’s best friend. Coffee, energy drinks and alcohol can dehydrate, so be sure to balance them out with extra hydration.

Pro Tips:
For Sensitive Skin: Skip fragrances — they can be irritants in disguise.
For Acne-prone Skin: Look for "noncomedogenic" on labels (meaning it won’t clog pores).
For Everyone: Do regular skin checks. New moles or spots? Get them checked by a dermatologist.
