Meaty Pizza Pasta Freezer Meal
This quick and easy meaty pizza pasta is perfect for busy weeknights and weekends. Be sure to break up the ground beef into bite-size pieces before adding them to the freezer bag. Ingredients
- 1 onion, chopped
- 6 oz. Kroger Brand Sliced Pepperoni
- 1 pound Kroger Brand 93/7 Lean Ground Beef, broken in to small pieces
- 1 1⁄2 tsp. salt
- 1⁄2 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1 jar (24 oz.) Kroger Brand Marinara Pasta Sauce
- 2 cups Kroger Brand Mozzarella Shredded Cheese, divided
- 5 oz. Kroger Brand Tender Spinach
- 1 tsp. ground oregano
- 1 pound Kroger Brand Rigatoni Pasta
- 2 cups water
Directions
- In a 1-gallon freezer bag add onion, pepperoni, ground beef, salt, pepper, marinara sauce, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese and spinach. Squeeze out extra air and flatten. In a smaller freezer bag combine the remaining 1 cup of cheese and oregano. Clearly date and label the bags. Freeze for up to 3 months.
- To prepare in a slow cooker: Thaw the bags overnight in the refrigerator or under cool running water for 1-2 hours. Place the contents of the marinara bag, pasta and water in a greased 5-quart or larger slow cooker; stir to combine. Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours or until pasta is tender and beef is cooked through. Sprinkle with reserved cheese and oregano; cover and allow to melt.
- To prepare in an Pressure Cooker: Place water and frozen contents of the marinara bag in the insert. Twist the lid to close and turn the valve to seal. Select manual function and set timer for 25 minutes. Carefully and quickly release remaining pressure. Add pasta; stirring to combine. Twist the lid to close and turn the valve to seal. Select manual function and set timer for 5 minutes. Carefully and quick release remaining pressure. Sprinkle with reserved cheese and oregano; cover and allow to melt.
- Refrigerate leftovers.
